U.S.A International School opened its doors to its first branch in Battambang province in 2001. Now 17 years later, through diligence and hard work, U.S.A International School has become one of the top educational institutions in Cambodia. USAIS accepts no less than academic excellence from its staff, and provide students with the highest quality education available. The first branch of the school was geared to teaching English to Kindergarten students, but over the years, USAIS has grown and now has multiple located in four cities: Phnom Penh, Sisophon, Battambang and Siem Reap. Our academic focus has expanded along with the school; USAIS has added a program of English for Adults and Computer Training. It has additionally implemented a first rate Khmer Education curriculum and an English language program. Education is a constantly evolving process and it necessitates continuous development. In response to the growing need for a comprehensive, top notch education, USAIS requires all teachers to attend extra seminars, workshops and classes to enhance their teaching abilities.
We believe the elementary school years are the most formative of a child’s life. These early years can breed intellectual apathy or curiosity to seek knowledge.
The statue that became the original Mister Mike was discovered by General Director of USAIS, Chea Heang, when he was traveling through Yunnan province in the People’s Republic of China, near the headwaters of the Mekong River. When he first saw the playful statue he immediately knew that it was the perfect symbol for his school. A mascot was born.So now Mister Mike’s presence graces every branch of USAIS. He is the school’s tried and true good luck statue.

We offer an Australian American Curriculum (AAC) in English that focuses on gaining an understanding of the world through critical thinking with an international focus. Students in our English-based programs studying at U.S.A. International School will receive two recognized certificates: a local and an international Cambridge English Certificate. We’ve been expanding our collaboration with the other international partners, and we hope that through these ties and our curriculum, we will become the foremost educational institution in Cambodia.
